Chess is considered one of the oldest board games ,it was originated in the eastern part of the world probably in Persia before the arabs  conquer  to it .

After being taken by the Islamic civilization ,it was spread to Europe &from there it was developed &evolved into it’s current form &rules .

The 19^th century witnessed  in the mid 50’s-60’s the 1^st international tournament ,afterwards in 1886 the 1^st world chess tournament was held.

The 20^th century faced huge advances in chess theory particularly openings &strategy then it was more developed to the extent it became an independent science like physics, chemistry ,..etc.

Chess theory was developed by magnificent grandmasters specifically like :nimzovitch and ritchard reti .

In the decade of 70’s and afterwards computer softwares began to appear and was developed after that by programmers until it reached an irresistible performance .

Currently viswanathan anand from india is the official world chess  champion .
